126. Bop Along Like a Pop Pop / Happy V-Day

125. Boxing & Acting with Jack O’Halloran / Super Bowl Week



John and Coleman have an extra long show this week! The guys interview the legend Jack O’Halloran, known for his successful boxing career and for playing some big roles in Hollywood. Jack talks about going toe to toe with George Foreman, beating the crap out of champions, and even almost getting a fight with Muhammad Ali! He also discusses some of his characters that he has played in movies such as Superman 1 and 2 (Non), King Kong (Joe Perko), Dragnet (Emil), Farewell My Lovely (Moose), March or Die (Ivan), and more! Listen to Jack talk about how he slammed Christopher Reeve up against a wall, inspired Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky” character, and the roles he has turned down in some big movies, like James Bond for example! And did you know he has a book?

Sprinkled around the interview, John and Coleman talk about the Super Bowl and everything surrounding it. From the commercials to the halftime show, and from the game itself to Trump being confused as to which state won the game. Also, Coleman went camping! He tells John how much of a struggle the weather and his tent was, despite having a good time overall. John and Coleman talk about Christmas a bit as the holiday season is upon us! They interview Mr. Eddie Deezen, who played “Mr.Know-it-all” in the holiday film “The Polar Express (2004)” as well as acted in movies such as Grease 1 and 2, WarGames, and A LOT more! Mr. Deezen has a big portfolio of voicing characters and acting, but did you know he was one of the pioneers that made being a “nerd” cool? The guys also talk about a number of other things such as upside Christmas trees, hairless owls, and matching pajamas.

John is broke from Vegas, Coleman got a Pedicure, and John still can’t pronounce words. John and Coleman interview the amazing actor/comedian/improv legend, Larry Hankin! Known for roles in movies and shows such as Escape From Alcatraz, Home Alone, Billy Madison, Friends, Breaking Bad, and so many more! Larry talks about how tough the entertainment business is and how it was for him coming up when he was young compared to now. He provides advice and shares personal stories of various auditions, and including times he was on the sets of different movies working with numerous notorious directors. Larry even gives us a background into his personal life regarding issues he has to deal with to get over the various hurdles of show business.

The interview begins 17 minutes in. The conversation goes as far back as his college days and his improv days with The Committee, to now where he has a book called “The Loopholes Dossier” (available on Amazon) and a role in “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie” (available on Netflix), and also everything in between! Also, they both went to the final Orlando City soccer match and give their last update of the season.

Discussions also included the premier of the 45th season of SNL, a 9 year old being sentenced for 5 counts of murder, someone’s suggestion to eat babies to fix the climate, the internet exploding over Ellen and George W. The guys also interview Jeff Davis, an actor who is currently working on producing and directing his own horror film and also an actor in the upcoming movie “Showdown on the Brazos”. Also the gang chat about Amber Guyger and her murder sentence. Wrapping up, the conversation steers towards sports as Koko lets everyone know what’s going on with the first few weeks of the NFL, the beginning of the MLB postseason, and the opening day of the NHL season! John and Coleman have a special interview for this one! The guys talk with professional wrestling legend, Sycho Sid Vicious! At first, John and Coleman address the craziness that happened at their favorite bar, Casey’s. Also, they discuss wrestling and shenanigans before getting Sid on the show.

The interview with Sid happens at around the 34 minute mark. He discusses a lot, some of which being about his leg breaking, who inspired him, how he got into the wrestling business, and much more! He even talks about which company he preferred working for, as well as, the Shockmaster incident and the difficulties/training involved with his line of work. We got to so much and we can not thank Sid enough for taking the time to talk with us and give us a behind the scenes look at the grandest stage of sports entertainment (WCW, ECW, WWF, WWE). John and Coleman chat with comedian/podcaster Ross McCoy! There were a range of topics from his early days in comedy and radio to what he’s doing now in regards to both. He recently started a podcast “The Orlando Talk Show (TOTS)” that everyone should check out. Ross explains a bit of his love for amusement rides and Fortnite; Also, him and Coleman remember way back to when they first met.

The jokes were flying throughout. Coleman tries to find out what “burns Ross’ tots”, as well as, John trying to find out why Ross is called “The Pine Hills Ninja”. For “Did Ya Hear?”, they bring up the deaths of two Mt. Everest climbers, tornadoes touching down all over the states, and the NBA/NHL playoffs. Episode 73 has special guest Joe Censabella on! He’s a hilarious comedian with viral short videos, most of which are in regards to Flex Seal Infomercials featuring Phil Swift. It was a lot of fun finding out more about Joe, especially with his Instagram page quickly gaining traction (@realgrandmasboy) . He talks about his first time doing stand-up, the frequency of bombing, and much more!

Other discussions include some travel talk, news with “Did Ya Hear?”, and we also hit Joe with a few life altering questions to get a better idea of his personality and character. For episode 61, it is just John and guest Ry from “What’s the Fuss?” Podcast. We discuss how Ry dove head first into the podcast scene and the emotions/pressure that came along with it. Also, Ry has a new show coming out politically based called DNA (Disclaimers Not Apologies), he tells us about it and samples a bit for us. Ry also opens up about the connotation of being “Ry the Bi Guy” ; And of course, we talk about our common interest of each doing a show with the charismatic Rocky Socha.

Changing gears, we cover a bit of news doing “Did Ya Hear?” – discussing briefly about the NBA playoffs, the dangers of Romaine Lettuce, Cockroach Milk, Roseanne being a dummy, and much more!
